Use Albuquerque as the practical airport, Socorro as the photography-first base, and the vehicle as part of the field workflow.

Albuquerque International Sunport is the practical airport. From ABQ, rent a car, take I-25 south toward Socorro, then follow the official FWS route via exit 139, US 380, and NM-1 to the refuge visitor center.
