Computer, Keep the Work Moving

By Cristiano Pierry

ChatGPT Voice keeps Codex work within reach through ordinary transitions, leaving the screen for moments that need visual attention.

I have been experimenting with ChatGPT Voice in the desktop app to coordinate work in Codex. It has given me a new appreciation for Jean-Luc Picard. Wherever he was on the Enterprise, he could simply speak to the computer and keep going.

I was getting ready for a meeting this morning. I had just finished a shower and was getting dressed. At the same time, I was using ChatGPT Voice to direct the Codex agents already working on my behalf.

I could keep getting ready, give direction, and stay in the conversation without returning to the keyboard for every small coordination action.

A hand-drawn voice ribbon linking shower controls and a hanging shirt to several coordinated agent work cards.
Voice keeps the thread of the work intact through ordinary transitions.

I did not beam up to the Enterprise. I was still in my hotel room, getting ready for a meeting.

But I could keep a real working conversation going while the rest of my day continued around it. That is the part that feels promising to me. The computer is not replacing the world outside the screen. It is becoming easier to bring the work with you when the moment calls for it.
