Don’t Build Your Operating System on a Quota
By Cristiano Pierry
A reflection on moving daily AI automations from quota-constrained tooling to a more reliable operating layer.

I have had enough of Claude’s limited token availability.
I’m migrating my Cloud Co-work automations to Codex.
I keep running out of Claude tokens. Not occasionally. Constantly.
At this point, even basic follow-up questions can hit the limit quickly enough that the workflow becomes hard to rely on. And once a workflow stops being reliable, it stops feeling like leverage and starts feeling like tech debt.
So I’m moving the automations over to Codex, and I’m canceling my Claude subscription.
Naturally, I asked Codex to help with the migration.
It is happily doing the work of replacing the system that used to do the work.
There is probably a lesson in there somewhere about abundant intelligence, brittle workflows, and the danger of building your daily operating system on top of a quota you keep exhausting.
