The 12-Foot UI

A glanceable ChatGPT dashboard would show me from across the room whether a long task is working, done, or waiting for me.
I want to give ChatGPT a long task, then go make coffee or sit on the sofa. Every so often, I’ll glance across the room at my computer. Is it still working? Has it finished? Has it been waiting for me to answer a question this whole time?
I want a dashboard I can read from there. Three clear states: working, needs me, done. Maybe one line about what it’s doing. I shouldn’t have to walk back and read the conversation to find out whether anything needs my attention.
As I hand agents longer jobs, being able to walk away becomes part of the product. One glance from the sofa should tell me whether all is well in AI land, so I can finish my coffee.
